Numerical Flow Simulation

We perform numerical simulation of complex flow, heat, explosion, fires and chemical reactions in complex geometries. The studies are mainly performed to support the design or modification of offshore installations.

Lilleaker Consulting uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for numerical simulation of flow, heat and chemical reactions in complex geometries.  Lilleaker uses commercial CFD programs such as FLUENT, FLACS, KFX and OpenFoam when performing these studies. 

The main working area for our CFD group the last years has been support in the design or modification of offshore installations and subsea equipment. This work includes:

The studies are carried out both as an integrated part in the safety discipline in the projects and as independent studies at Lilleaker's office.

The Lilleaker CFD group has also been engaged in several onshore projects. These include valves/filter design, ventilation studies in tunnels and industry halls and smoke dispersion related to escape analyses. In addition, environmental flow related to Pedestrian Comfort such as the development of Bjørvika, has become a main working area.

Clients the last years include among others: Aker Solutions, ConocoPhillips, Statoil, BP, Norske Shell, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Eni, Sevan Marine, Det norske, Skanska and SMOE.
